I've been asking about crime and antisocial behaviour with Police and the Council this week on behalf of Warsop Parish residents who have raised their concerns with me.
In recent weeks, I've seen lots of reports of criminal damage, which made me question what's going on. It seems that there has been a rise in this kind of crime (though lower level antisocial behaviour has actually fallen by almost 1/3, which is great!) and I've been pleased to hear the Police have responded with proactive interventions like this one.
I've asked Mansfield District Council to come back to me on their proposals to help manage the problems criminal damage, such as the memorial bench being thrown into the river and then, after it was recovered, graffitied a few weeks ago on The Carr's. I've asked about the possibility of extending their network of CCTV to include areas like this and will keep you updated.
On a more positive note, I was really pleased to see these kind of community projects happening as well.
A massive well done to Phoebe for setting up Warsop Against Waste. Why don't you join them this Saturday at 11am at The Carr's? I'm hoping to come along to a future session too!
