It's been brilliant to see a huge amount of support around Mansfield and Warsop for the Royal British Legion over the past few weeks. Here's a look back at some of the highlights.
I was grateful to Glyn and Bev for dropping off poppies and a collection off my office on Church Street. It was also fantastic to see veterans out supporting the Poppy Wall in Mansfield market place.
I put pedal to the metal and took place in the Industry and Parliament Trust #PoppyRide, where I was temporarily at the top of the leader board...
I was also able to spend Friday morning selling poppies in Tesco, before a busy day of
The Hive at Four Seasons Shopping Centre had a fantastic display about Mansfield's former Liberal MP, Sir Arthur Markham, who campaigned to get underage boy soldiers returned from the front lines. Really pleased I was able to visit this afternoon.
I attended a poignant and, as always, well attended ceremony this morning as we laid wreaths in honour of the servicemen and women who gave their lives for ours. It was fantastic to see so many young people on parade too in our local cadet forces. It's so important that new generations know and understand that so many sacrificed their future for ours.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting the Royal British Legion and donating. It's important to remember those who gave their tomorrow for our today.
