Following on from my campaign to highlight the education and attainment of white working-class boys, I'm delighted to hear that the Education Select Committee has announced that it has launched a formal inquiry into the educational performance of disadvantaged white pupils, and how best to support them.
You may remember that I held a debate on this issue to seek support for white boys from disadvantaged backgrounds, who underperform against all races and ethnicities of other boys. I also wrote for the Telegraph and Politics Home, and took part in the BrexitBros podcast on this subject.
There was a massive focus on 'levelling up' across the country during the election, and I've been urging Government to level up our education system in communities like Mansfield.
Statistically, it's white working-class boys that are most likely to fall behind at school and it's vital that we support these boys who are increasingly left behind.
I will follow this inquiry closely and engage with it as much as I can.
