This morning I spoke to Julia Hartley Brewer on talkRADIO about where things currently stand with Brexit. It was quite a lengthy discussion (8 mins) that covered quite a lot, so not a bad place to get a summary of my thoughts as we reach the crunch point of talks in the next day or two.
- The smoothest way through this is with a deal that we can support, as if a deal is not possible it's more likely to be Parliament (not Government) that hold all the cards about what to do next.
- Labour have already decided they won't vote for a deal, even though they've not seen what it looks like yet. They've proven that for them it's not about 'preventing no deal', it's about blocking Brexit and destroying the Government.
