I woke up to more great news this morning as the Government is finally going to make education the key priority that it should be, including making sure the teaching profession is valued and paid properly.
Salaries for new teachers are set to rise to £30,000 by 2022-23, under government plans for the biggest reform to teacher pay in a generation.
The move would make starting salaries for teachers among the most competitive in the graduate labour market, building on the above-inflation average pay increase for teachers in the last two years.
We want the very best to become teachers, and we want to keep the best teachers in the profession. It's not all about pay, of course, but it's certainly a start.
