A few weeks ago I spoke to the BBC about the impact of social media on our politics, both in terms of how politicians communicate and how it opens up new avenues for people to share their views with Government.
A petition on the GOV website has to be debated in the Commons if it reaches 100,000 signatures. A lot of activists use this route to get their issues aired.
I think this is a healthy thing, and I'm always grateful for the huge amount of positive communication I get through my own social media pages, which I hope make me easily accessible to constituents.
