This afternoon, I sponsored and hosted a drop-in event for colleagues to come and find out more about Care After Combat. I was really pleased that colleagues were able to learn more about the brilliant work of Care After Combat, and the Secretary of State for Defence was also able to drop in. Jim Davidson, Chief Executive of the charity, and Dr Nick Murdoch, Head of Projects, were there to fill MPs in on the work they do and the barriers they need to overcome.
Their regional office is based in Newark, not far from us, and they work to support veterans who have struggled to reintegrate into civilian life, and have ended up in the judicial system. Obviously we all want to see the best possible care and support for those who have served our country, so it was a pleasure to help them raise the cause with MPs in Parliament today.
